Love is in the Air ♡

Valentine's day is probably the only day of the year, where lovers have every excuse to show off  their love around. That's right I am talking PDA in the street, over the top acts in the name of love, lavish 'guilt free' presents of the day and well if you're single, it sucks to be you on valentines day.

I personally believe, that Valentines Day is a nice day to celebrate with your love. No , not because everyone says you should but, because sometimes life gets in the way of things and you don't get the chance to tell your love how you feel about them , or a chance to spend time with them because you're too busy and caught up in yourself . So having a day, where you can put everything aside and put him or her first, by doing something nice for them whether it's sending them a sweet text, making them dinner, taking them out somewhere special or even just helping them out is a really sweet thing to do , to remind them that you're there for them and show them how you feel without feeling cheesy and going too far.

Of course, not every single couple in the world celebrates this day and why would they? It's not a religious holiday neither a state holiday. Yes, some people do argue that if you love someone you should show them your love everyday - but some people can't do that because of well life and other things that get in the way so it's a nice day to take off and dedicate to someone. It doesn't even have to be a whole day, it can be an hour, a minute even a second to show someone that 'hey, I love you man!' sort of gesture.

If you're single, don't worry your day will come. Love is over-rated I agree with you on that, but don't be bitter by sending hate mail to all those car-azy lovers out there hate mail and 'get a room' shout outs. You don't want to seem like a haggard spinster who's going to spend the rest of their life living with 26 cats all alone in a fur ball flat. So, you have two choice's here : ignore the holiday and go on with life like normal or, you can take light of the day and send everyone funny love texts. Lovers would appreciate the funny meaning behind them and single friends will relish the joke as well! This year, I sent a picture of a donkey dressed in red to all my close friends and family, asking them to be my valentine and something along the lines of 'hey sorry i couldn't be with you this valentines day but here's a donkey just for you my lovee'. Everyone loved it and found it extremely funny and cute too.

So what I'm trying to say here, is valentines day is just another day really. So don't be a hater, if your in love celebrate the fact that you found someone who loves you too and understands you. If you're not in love then well, celebrate the fact that you're going to be saving a lot of money this year and that you won't feel guilty eating that box of heart chocolates by yourself. If you are desperate, just invite a couple of your friends and family over and celebrate the day by having everyone you love around. Please, don't do something stupid, like go out and lust after people  - it's so tacky and totally against the day. Cupid is the master of love after all not, lust !
